THE CAUSE
At The Sweet Cause, we choose to focus on supporting children because they face circumstances they cannot fight on their own. While we often prioritize children with serious medical needs, our mission extends beyond that. We aim to support children of all ages who are navigating hardship.
While The Sweet Cause is a business at its core, what sets it apart is purpose. A meaningful portion of our profits is dedicated to supporting children and families who are facing challenges that require both community and financial support.
Our giving process is intentional and personal. We actively search for and connect with families of children facing serious medical conditions and difficult circumstances. Through direct communication with families, we aim to understand their needs and provide financial support once our profit goals align with those needs. Our goal is to make donations on a monthly basis while continuing to expand the number of children and families we are able to support. Currently, The Sweet Cause is working to support two children and their families: Wrenley and Maverick.
Here’s a little about Wrenley, shared by her family:
Wrenley is a 2.5 year old girl who has had quite the hard battle. In October of 2024, she was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor in her right kidney. She completed 7 months of chemotherapy and a surgery to remove her kidney. We thought the journey was done and cancer was in the rearview mirror!
Then unfortunately in September of 2025, Wrenley was diagnosed again, but this time it was Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). This treatment plan is very intense and all inpatient. We are admitted for 30+ days at a time. She has 2 cycles left to complete, the last 2 being very intense to make sure all the cancer is gone!

Here’s a little about Maverick, shared by his family:
Maverick is a 3 year old Wilms tumor warrior. He is currently in remission after a 10 month battle. In April 2025 he was diagnosed with stage 3 nephroblastoma, which is a rare form of kidney cancer that is most commonly diagnosed in children under the age of age 5. He underwent a radical nephrectomy (total kidney removal) on his left side, as well as 6 radiation treatments and 39 weeks of intense chemotherapy.
